MRI SCAN SERIES – SEEING THE UNSEEN

This series draws direct inspiration from MRI brain scans — tools designed to visualise the internal structures of the mind, yet still incapable of capturing the nuance of thought, emotion, and perception. I use these scans not as medical images, but as symbolic frameworks: abstract maps of neurodivergence, perception, and internal struggle.

Through layered textures, fragmented forms, and distorted outlines, I reimagine the clinical aesthetic of the MRI as something more human, emotional, and interpretive. The work speaks to the tension between how neurodivergent minds are examined by science and how they are experienced from within. Each piece becomes a visual echo, representing the complexity of dyslexic cognition and the often-invisible pressures of existing in a neurotypical world.

These images do not offer a diagnosis or definition. Instead, they reflect what cannot be measured: the lived, felt experience of a differently wired mind.
